Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 July 2026
Your privacy matters. This policy explains, in plain English, what data Compound Money collects, why, and what control you have over it.
The short version
We collect as little as possible. We don't sell your data. You can read every article and use every tool without giving us anything. We only hold personal data if you choose to subscribe to our newsletter or contact us, plus basic anonymous analytics to understand what's useful.
Who we are
Compound Money ("Compound", "we", "us") operates the website at compoundmoney.co.uk. For any privacy question, contact us at hello@compoundmoney.co.uk. [Add your operating name/legal entity and address here.]
What we collect
- Newsletter email. If you subscribe, we store the email address you give us (and nothing more) so we can send you the newsletter.
- Messages you send us. If you email or contact us, we keep that correspondence to reply and follow up.
- Anonymous usage data. Like most sites, we collect basic analytics — pages visited, rough location (country/region), device and browser type — to see what's helping readers. We use [analytics provider — e.g. a privacy-friendly tool such as Plausible, or Google Analytics 4].
We do not collect financial account details, and the calculators run entirely in your browser — the numbers you type into a tool are not sent to or stored by us.
Why we're allowed to (lawful basis)
- Consent — for the newsletter and any non-essential analytics cookies. You opt in, and you can withdraw at any time.
- Legitimate interest — for running and securing the site and understanding aggregate usage.
Cookies
Cookies are small files a site stores on your device. Essential cookies keep the site working; analytics cookies help us measure usage. Where we use non-essential cookies, we'll ask for your consent via a banner, and you can decline or change your mind at any time. [Confirm cookie/consent setup once analytics is chosen.]
Who we share it with
Only the service providers that help us run the site, and only as needed:
- Our hosting provider (Cloudflare), which serves the website.
- Our email/newsletter provider [e.g. Beehiiv, Substack, Mailchimp], which stores subscriber emails.
- Our analytics provider [as above].
We never sell your personal data, and we don't share it for anyone else's marketing.
How long we keep it
We keep your newsletter email until you unsubscribe (one click, any time). Correspondence is kept only as long as needed to deal with your query. Analytics data is retained for [retention period — e.g. 14–26 months].
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to: access the data we hold about you; correct it; delete it; restrict or object to its use; and withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email hello@compoundmoney.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
International transfers
Some of our providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on providers that offer appropriate safeguards recognised under UK data-protection law.
Children
Compound is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date above.
