Your privacy matters. This page explains, in plain English, what personal data Compound Money collects, why, and the control you have over it.

The short version

You can read every article and use every calculator without giving us anything, and the calculators run entirely in your browser, so the figures you type are never sent to us. We only collect a personal detail when you choose to give it: your email address, when you ask us to send you the free playbook or otherwise sign up. We use it to send you the guide and, from time to time, useful emails and relevant offers. You can unsubscribe at any time, and we do not sell your personal data.

Who we are

Compound Money ("we", "us") operates the website at compoundmoney.co.uk. For any question about your data, email hello@compoundmoney.co.uk.

What we collect

• Your email address, if you request the playbook or sign up. We store it so we can send you the guide and future emails.
• Messages you send us, kept so we can reply and follow up.
• Nothing from the calculators. They run in your browser; the numbers you enter stay on your device and are never sent to us.
• We count page views so we can see which articles are useful. This is done on our own servers, with no third-party analytics service, no advertising, and no cookies. We record the page you viewed, the website that referred you (the domain only, never the full address), your country, and whether you are on a phone, tablet or desktop. We do not store your IP address: it is combined with your browser type, today’s date and a secret value, then put through a one-way hash so we can count visitors without identifying anyone. That code changes every midnight, so you cannot be followed from one day to the next. We do not use advertising cookies, and we will ask for your consent before we ever do.

How we use your email, and our lawful basis

When you give us your email we rely on your consent, and we use it to:

• send you the guide or content you asked for;
• send you occasional emails we think you will find useful: tips, guides, and product recommendations and offers. Some of these may be sponsored, or contain affiliate links from which we may earn a commission. This is part of how we keep Compound free to read;
• understand what our readers find helpful, so we can improve what we send.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email, or by emailing us. See also how we make money.

Who we share it with

We share your data only with the service providers that help us run Compound, and only so they can perform that service for us: our hosting and infrastructure provider (Cloudflare, which serves the site and stores our subscriber list) and our email provider (Resend, which sends our emails). We do not sell your personal data to third parties. If we ever wanted to share it more widely, we would ask for your clear consent first and update this page.

Cookies

We do not set any cookies of our own, for advertising, analytics or anything else. Our page-view counting stores nothing at all on your device, which is why you are not asked to accept a cookie banner. Cloudflare, who host the site, may set strictly necessary cookies that keep it secure and working.

How long we keep it

We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Correspondence is kept only as long as needed to deal with your query.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us to give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, and withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email hello@compoundmoney.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

International transfers

Our providers (Cloudflare and Resend) operate globally, so your data may be processed outside the UK under the safeguards recognised by UK data protection law.

Children

Compound is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 18.

Changes to this page

If we change how we use your data, we will update this page and the date above before the change takes effect.
